Rebuilding

This past week, we read Chapters 13-15...and I think we can all agree that we've finally hit the MEAT of 'Breaking Free!'

Instead of moving on, I'd like for us to take Beth's advice and not rush through this part of our journey together. I don't want you to get bogged down, but I also don't want us to miss anything that God is working through or saying to each of us. So, focus in on chapters 13-14...journaling, praying, seeking out His Light even in our darkest of places. Don't do it because I said to, or because you think it's the 'right' thing...ask God to make Himself your very heart's desire...and watch and see what happens!

Wednesday, we had an incredible time of learning and sharing together. God has already been doing so much within each of us...but He wants to do more. Will you let Him?

Our discussion next Wednesday (3/13) will continue with the ancient ruins God is rebuilding in all of us. We will also focus heavily on Ch15, the lies and deceptions of satan, some that we don't even know we are believing. Ask God to bring into Light anything, ANYTHING that has you in captivity. I'm praying for you, that His voice would be loud and His arms would squeeze tight! I'm so humbled to get to be on this journey with you! Don't give up :)

And they shall rebuild the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former desolations and renew the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations. (Isaiah 61:4 AMP)

A little heart to heart

Hi there sweet friends! I'm feeling the need to say out loud some of what is rolling around in my noggin this week! Not sure about you guys, but the chains of captivity seem to be pretty suffocating now that God is trying to illuminate our eyes to them! Any of you feeling the same way? It occurred to me yesterday as I was rummaging for something sweet in the pantry--AGAIN, that I might be hopeless. Yep. Definitely went there. Thank goodness Jesus was right there to rebuttal: 'you aren't going to believe that, are you?' Friends, this journey is different for all of us! Some of us have a very clear picture of what God is freeing us from, some of us are still watching it come to light. But one thing is true for us all--this is a FIGHT! Not of our will, discipline or own efforts and strength, but of just how much we are going to allow our 'feelings' dictate our course. Just because I feel hopeless, doesn't mean that I am. I have to trust in Gods ...

Healer

So I cut my finger on some broken glass yesterday morning.  It was an accident...Kylie bumped a glass casserole dish that was drying on the counter top as she was getting a glass of water and it SHATTERED everywhere on the granite surface and tile floor.  I even found a piece in the hallway...around the corner!  I grabbed at one of the bigger pieces as I was cleaning it up and hit it at just the wrong angle and it sliced open my middle finger on my right hand.  Yes, I'm right handed. So, I've spent the past 24 hours trying to keep a band-aid on this finger.  Do you realize how many times a day you wash your hands?  Triple that when you have 2 kiddos.  I had no idea just how much that tip of my middle finger gets bumped, knocked, grabbed, squeezed...used every day. I keep having to put a new bandage on it every few hours.  I've even tried to go without a bandage a few times to see if it will just heal....and it won't.  It's annoying. ...

As we read...

Hello BFFs!! Get it?...Breaking Free Friends! :) OK, so humor isn't my strong suit..I'm cool with that!  Thankfully, our freedom in Christ is no joke to God and all kidding aside, I hope that you aren't taking it lightly either. As I've been reading through the chapters assigned for this week, I've felt some deeper questions pop up in my heart and mind...God is nudging me to to not only read the words to accomplish the task of reading, but to truly take a step back and examine my heart and motives in each area.  Some if not all of these areas are pretty tough to grasp and certainly not easily done overnight!  So here are a few deeper questions to ask yourself, journal and pray through as you read chapters 3, 4 and 5 this week.  Read through these as you finish each chapter...it might be a bit much if you just read it as one post!  Reflect on the work He's doing in your life...and don't be afraid to tell Him what you're feeling! Chapter3: To know G...
